PETALING JAYA: The 2026 academic calendar for all national and government-aided schools will be from Jan 11 to Dec 31 for Group A states, and Jan 12 to Dec 31 for Group B states.
Group A comprises Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, while Group B consists of Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek (pic) said the transition back to the January academic cycle was done gradually and in an orderly manner without disrupting the operation of educational institutions.
The ministry had previously decided to change the academic calendar for the 2021/2022 session due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
